The transfer of personal data from the EU to the US and third countries after the "Schrems II" ruling.

In this 4-hour workshop, Prof. Avv. Alessandro del Ninno carried out an in-depth analysis of the current framework relating to international data transfers outside the European Union after the principles set forth in the EU Court of Justice's so-called ruling " Schrems II ", which abolished the "Privacy Shield" as a basis of legitimacy for transferring data to the USA and confirmed with limitations the validity of the EU Commission Decision 2010/87 which contains the standard contractual clauses for data transfer.

Starting from the analysis of Chapter V - articles 44-50 - of the General Data Protection Regulation no. 679/2016, Prof. Avv. Alessandro del Ninno analyzed all the innovations to make international transfers of personal data to third countries legitimate, in light of the new requirements necessary to make them compliant with the GDPR and the new principles established by the EU Court.
