The EU proposal for a General Regulation on Artificial Intelligence: practical impact and liabilities.
Workshop organized by Optime Paradigma S.p.A.

The Workshop explores all the innovative aspects of the new general European discipline, which once approved will be applicable globally under certain conditions and which in any case is the first legislative paradigm in the world in an attempt to introduce homogeneous, organic and general rules on AI.
Particular focus is dedicated to the risk-based approach of the new EU AI Act, as well as to the so called anthropocentrism of Artificial Intelligence, around which the whole system of new rules revolves.
In this perspective, the impacts of the provisions on the so-called "high-risk AI systems" and the consequent obligations for developers and suppliers are analyzed (eg: implementation of a risk assessment system, a general quality management system and data governance). But also the new obligations for simple users of AI systems are analyzed from an operational point of view, as they will require a restructuring, for example, of contractual relations with suppliers of AI systems.
Finally, the workshop examines the proposal for the EU General Regulation on Artificial Intelligence together with the other proposal for the EU Directive on the discipline of civil liability deriving from the use of AI systems.
