Artificial Intelligence Tools Supporting HR Processes.
Conference organized by Paradigma S.p.A. - 4 March 2026.
Alessandro Del Ninno joined as a speaker at the conference “Artificial Intelligence Tools Supporting HR Processes”, an event dedicated to examining the opportunities and legal challenges arising from the use of artificial intelligence systems in human resources management.
During his presentation, Attorney Del Ninno addressed the European and national regulatory framework governing the deployment of AI tools in HR processes, focusing in particular on the legal, ethical, and personal data protection implications associated with the use of automated technologies in the management of employees.
Special attention was devoted to the European Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AI Act), with an analysis of its scope of application, the classification of AI systems, and the obligations that may apply to organizations deploying such technologies in recruitment, evaluation, or personnel management processes. In this context, the presentation also examined the main provisions of Law No. 132/2025, which introduces specific rules on artificial intelligence within the Italian legal system.
The presentation further explored the relationship between artificial intelligence and personal data protection law, with particular reference to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the issues arising from the automated processing of employees’ personal data. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and on the importance of conducting a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) as a key instrument for assessing the risks associated with algorithmic systems used in decision-making processes affecting employees.
The intervention also addressed issues relating to corporate responsibility and internal AI governance, as well as the implications of deploying intelligent technologies in light of the legal framework governing employee monitoring, workers’ information rights, and possible forms of collective bargaining concerning the use of such systems in the workplace.
Finally, particular emphasis was placed on the role of corporate policies and internal regulations in establishing a structured governance framework capable of ensuring that the use of artificial intelligence in HR processes remains compliant with applicable laws, transparent, and respectful of employees’ rights.
Alessandro Del Ninno’s contribution provided a comprehensive overview of the evolving legal landscape, highlighting the key compliance and governance challenges that organizations face when integrating artificial intelligence into human resources management.
