Council of Ministers adopts preliminary draft legislative decree transposing the EU Directive 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the digital single market.
The Italian Council of Ministers has adopted the preliminary draft legislative decree that transposes the EU Directive 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the digital single market which will now be examined by Parliament and then definitively adopted by the Italian Government.
Strengthening the protection of authors with appropriate rules for the digital age is a fundamental step in the interests of authors and publishers.
The Legislative Decree implementing the Copyright Directive n. 2019/790 / EU, as approved by the Council of Ministers no. 32 of 5 August 2021 is now under examination by the Chamber of Deputies for the requested legal opinion.
