EU Parliament: voting on the final draft of the crypto-asset regulation - MiCA has begun.

The EU Parliament has begun voting on the final draft of the regulation proposal on MiCA - Markets in Crypto Asset, which intends to define the regulatory framework that will recognize activities related to cryptocurrencies.

What is the MiCA regulation.

The European Union has decided to regulate the cryptocurrency sector with a specific regulation. The 27 member states of the EU have agreed to adopt a common law that avoids the confusion of regulations, with the risk of even substantial differences between the states of the Union. The objective of the law is to provide the European Union with common rules that on the one hand protect consumers, but on the other hand allow the development of the technology underlying cryptocurrencies and also the financial opportunities that crypto assets offer.
